Nigerian human Rights Activist, founder of Sahara Reporters and Former Presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore today has been arraigned in court by the Nigerian Government/DSS on trumped-up charges of treason and terrorism.
Since his arrest from his hotel room on August 2, 2019 and detention in prison this is the first time Sowore will show up in court and any public place.
Omoyele Sowore was today arraigned in court alongside his co defendant, Mr Olawake Bakare.
The ex presidential candidate is to be arraigned on seven counts bordering on treasonable felony, money laundering and cybercrimes. The Nigerian Government as well made an accusation on Sowore of granting an interview that caused an insult on President Muhammadu Buhari.
He has been in the custody of the Department of State Service since he was arrested on Saturday, August 3, 2019.
During the last Presidential election Sowore contested as a presidential candidate on the platform of the Africa Action Congress in the 2019 presidential election.
