Nigeria U-20 captain, Isaac Promise who led the Nigeria’s men football to the 2008 Olympic games in China has passed away.
According to reports The ex-Genclerbirligi and Trabzonspor striker collapsed and died on Thursday in his gym apartment in Austin, Texas, United State. Isaac Promise died at the age of 31.
The news of his death was made known to the public in an official statement on Thursday by Austin Bold FC chairman, Bobby Epstein.
“The greatest loss a team can suffer is not on the scoreboard, it’s the death of a fellow teammate,” wrote Epstein.
“It’s with shock and grief that we acknowledge the sudden death of Promise Isaac.
“On behalf of the BOLD organisation; we wish his wife, children and family strength and peace as they struggle to cope with his death.”
Before his demise, Isaac Promise had represented Nigeria at the 2005 World Youth Championship where the team lost to Argentina in the final, and also featured in three matches for Super Eagles Of Nigeria
